Inventory Analyst

Reporting to the Merchandise Manager, the Inventory Analyst is responsible for ensuring inventory is in the right place, at the right time, to maximize sales, maintain inventory health, improve inventory productivity, and support an exceptional customer experience across all channels. This role owns retail allocations, inventory movement, purchase order allocation, and inventory reporting while partnering closely with Merchandising, Planning, Retail, Wholesale and Operations to drive inventory performance.

Must be based in Vancouver, BC
Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote
Salary band: $65,000 - $80,000 CAD

Core Responsibilities

Allocation & Inventory Management

• Own the day-to-day health of inventory across all channels, proactively identifying stock imbalances, inventory risks and opportunities, and taking action to optimize inventory productivity.

• Execute daily and weekly inventory allocations across retail stores to maximize sales and inventory productivity.

• Monitor store inventory levels, sell-through and weeks of supply to ensure inventory is balanced across the retail channel.

• Identify opportunities to rebalance inventory through inter-store, cross-channel and country transfers.

• Support store grading and size-level allocations to ensure inventory is distributed effectively.

Inventory Operations

• Manage oversell reporting and coordinate timely resolution with cross-functional teams.

• Execute inventory transfers between Canada and the US to support demand across all channels.

• Manage country splits on purchase orders, ensuring inventory is allocated accurately prior to receipt.

• Maintain inventory accuracy by investigating discrepancies and partnering with Operations to resolve issues.

• Support inventory reconciliations and ongoing inventory health initiatives.

Inventory Analysis & Reporting

• Produce weekly inventory reporting highlighting key risks, opportunities and recommendations.

• Develop and maintain inventory health dashboards, tracking key metrics across retail, wholesale and ecommerce.

• Monitor inventory productivity, stock availability, sell-through and weeks of supply across all channels.

• Analyze sales and inventory trends to make recommendations that improve allocation decisions.

• Support seasonal inventory forecasting and pre-season allocation planning.

• Provide reporting and insights to support merchandising, planning and executive decision-making.

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Partner closely with Merchandising, Planning, Retail, Wholesale, Operations and Logistics to execute inventory strategies.

• Communicate inventory risks, opportunities and recommendations proactively.

• Support new store openings, wholesale launches, promotional events and other cross-functional initiatives.

• Continuously look for opportunities to improve inventory processes, reporting and operational efficiencies.
  

Key Traits & Experience We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce or a related field.

• 3–5 years of experience in allocation, inventory management, merchandise planning or a related retail role.

• Strong understanding of retail inventory management, allocation principles and retail math.

• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze large datasets and translate data into actionable insights.

• Experience working with ERP and inventory management systems is considered an asset.

• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• A proactive problem solver who enjoys identifying opportunities and continuously improving processes.

• Able to prioritize multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across cross-functional teams.

• Curious, analytical and driven by using data to make informed business decisions.
