Director of Product Operations
Location: Must be based in Victoria, BC
Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote
Salary Band: $130-180K CAD
As we scale toward our next phase of growth, we are looking for an exceptional operational leader to help strengthen and scale the product organization while preserving the speed, creativity, instinct, and entrepreneurial energy that define the brand. The Director of Product Operations is the operational architect behind the product organization.This role exists to scale and operationalize a highly founder-led, product-driven business not replace the founder’s creative leadership. This leader will oversee the systems, processes, communication flow, and organizational infrastructure that support product creation across all categories. They will create clarity, strengthen team performance, improve operational rigor, and ensure the product organization can scale effectively while maintaining agility and innovation. They will serve as a key strategic and operational partner to the Co-Founder & Chief of Product & Innovation, helping reduce decision overload, increase visibility into priorities and execution, and remove operational friction from the product engine.
Product Organization Operations

Build and maintain operational reporting systems, dashboards, KPIs, and visibility tools across the product organization

Establish clear ownership structures, RACI frameworks, and decision-making pathways across cross-functional teams

Create scalable workflows and operational systems that improve accountability, communication, and execution clarity

Develop reporting rhythms and business reviews that proactively surface risks, bottlenecks, workload constraints, and operational priorities

Ensure the product organization is supported by strong operational infrastructure, documentation standards, process mapping, and scalable ways of working

Continuously evaluate and refine systems, tools, and workflows to improve speed, visibility, and organizational effectiveness

Own and optimize the end-to-end product organization workflow across design, development, technical design, sourcing, production, and product operations

Drive calendar integrity and ensure seasonal milestones remain on track

Lead workflow orchestration, launch readiness, and cross-functional operational alignment

Establish clear communication structures, meeting cadences, and escalation pathways

Improve organizational visibility into priorities, risks, dependencies, and decision-making needs

Ensure teams are operating proactively rather than reactively
Team Leadership & Accountability

Build and lead a high-performing product organization grounded in accountability, clarity, ownership, and collaboration

Elevate leadership capability across the product team through coaching, structure, and, operational discipline

Strengthen communication and alignment between design, development, sourcing, production, merchandising, and leadership

Reduce dependency on the founder for day-to-day operational decision-making

Partner closely with Product Team Operations to ensure smooth executional flow across the organization

Support hiring, organizational design, and team scaling as the business grows
Product Development Infrastructure

Lead operational excellence across development, technical design, sourcing, production, and commercialization workflows

Oversee PLM implementation and adoption across the product organization

Build scalable systems, tools, and operational processes that support growth while maintaining speed and flexibility

Improve resource planning, workload management, and operational forecasting

Drive visibility into costing, timelines, production readiness, and execution risks

Partner closely with sourcing and production leadership to strengthen vendor and commercialization operations
Design & Innovation Infrastructure

Build the operational infrastructure that supports best-in-class product creation and innovation

Create systems and workflows that allow design and innovation teams to move faster and more effectively

Support preseason development, innovation planning, concept execution, and cross-functional collaboration

Help protect creative bandwidth by reducing operational friction and improving organizational flow

Ensure innovation projects are properly resourced, prioritized, and operationalized
Founder Support

Serve as a trusted operational partner to the Co-Founder & Chief of Product & Innovation

Help organize priorities, route decisions, and surface the right information at the right time

Protect founder energy by reducing operational burden and decision overload

Create visibility into the organization without requiring founder involvement in every detail

Ensure key issues, risks, and opportunities are escalated appropriately

Help translate founder instinct and vision into clear organizational execution

Who You Are

12+ years of experience in apparel product operations, product creation, development operations, or related leadership roles
-
Deep understanding of apparel development, sourcing, commercialization, and product creation workflows
-
Experience scaling high-growth consumer brands, ideally in founder-led or entrepreneurial environments

Strong operational and organizational leadership capabilities with proven experience building systems and teams
-
Highly product-literate with strong understanding of apparel construction, development, and commercialization processes

Experienced in PLM implementation and operational process optimization
-
Strong emotional intelligence and communication skills
-
Able to create structure and accountability without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy

Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-moving environments
